Energy Pinwheel Pavilion by Five Line Projects
Created by Five Line Projects, the Energy Pavilion has won the ARCHTRIUMPH SUMMER PAVILION COMPETITION 2016
About the Project:
The Pavilion is designed to engage the community and explore the potential energy that a single action triggers. Extrapolating this concept to the wider community it supports the belief that people are the most prominent force that propels a community’s well-being. The individual is the single component that triggers the grander action.
Inspired by the classic childrens’ toy, the pinwheel, the Pavilion is a catalogue of thousands of wooden mills upheld by a forest of steel pillars. Each of the wheels are systematically aligned; a push of a single wheel triggers the adjacent, and so on, spinning each subsequent wheel.
